Make a custom sushi presentation board in our woodshop, then learn sushi fundamentals with Joyce of Cooking. Finish the afternoon with a guided tasting of sake and a beautiful plated spread you prepared together. A perfect Sunday date that mixes sawdust and soy sauce!

What you will do

• Build your board: Select a food-safe hardwood blank, square it up, plane, sand, and finish. Add a chopstick tray or sauce well as time allows. You will leave with a sealed, ready-to-use sushi board.

• Learn sushi basics: Joyce will cover rice prep, knife technique, rolling, plating, and sauces. You will make a small variety of maki and simple nigiri suitable for home entertaining.

• Plate and taste: Style your finished board and enjoy your creations with a sake tasting.

Who this is for

Couples and friends looking for a hands-on Sunday Funday. No woodworking or sushi experience required.
